Fidel M. Love

It is FOR and ABOUT authors.  Here we shine the light on authors who we’ve read, reviewed and recommend to others.  In this edition we are shining our light on another gifted author…
Fidel M. Love is a poet/writer born and raised on the southside of Chicago. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in English & Communications. He developed his passion for writing at a young age; collaborating with classmates to create a comic book of their own, only to learn that he was much better at coming up with the stories, plots, and characters than actually drawing them on paper. From there, he pushed the pencil and drawing books aside to pick up a pen and notepad, and began painting the pictures of the worlds he visited in his imagination through his words.

Over the years, his writing began to take on a deeper meaning. It wasn't just a hobby anymore - it was a must! Writing was therapeutic. He began writing poetry in high school, influenced by Hip-Hop and the emcee's ability to use wordplay to create imagery. His poetry was intimate and personal, compiled in several notebooks throughout the years.

Motivated to make his lifelong dream a reality, he self-published his first collection of poetry, "Cry Through The Pen" in 2012. Although it was a major accomplishment after many years of yearning, it was only a small ripple compared to his ultimate goals. Since then, Love has been writing, reading, studying, and learning as much as he can about the literary world. For some, writing is work - for others, it is a way of life. In May 2013, he collaborated with new up-and-coming authors for an urban fiction anthology, "CrazySexyCruel." Poems, short stories, novels, even film scripts -- he has plans for them all. He is always writing across genres with no limitations on what his imagination can bring to life!

PRAISE FOR CRY THROUGH THE PEN
“I would recommend this to those who enjoy the art of poetry and street verse. I liked that the emotion in each piece was raw and real. Some poets have lost that art, but Love was able to personalize his pieces and make the reader feel as if they were written for them.” - Candice M. Martin

“Poet Fidel M. Love has done a incredible job of carefully conveying true feeling and emotion throughout this book.” – Kisha Green

“Prolific gives the reader the ability to live through his words with his colorful descriptions and vibrant words. It's definitely a must-read.” - Queen
